McDonald’s:
Core Values Video Wall
2020
Envoy created the “Core Values” project for McDonald’s Headquarters in Chicago, IL. This “Core Values” project was created to replace the previous “Luminaries” installation in the McDonald’s HQ.
The Core Values project is a wide-format, corner-wrapping video wall across 10 4k display screens that plays a looping parallax illustration. There are three animated scenes (Rural, Suburban, and Urban) that scroll and transition seamlessly from one to the next. Each scene has unique and fun animations celebrating McDonald’s culture. The project plays featured videos to showcase real-life case studies of the McDonald’s core values in action, and the video wall serves as a background art piece for the corridor. It is located on the 8th floor, where the audience is McDonald’s executives and special guests.
For this project, I set up video playback and configuration for the parallax video with animations, video overlays, and special video triggers. I created a local CMS for updating billboard image content and featured videos. I solved the design problem of creating a perfect loop and transitions for three parallax scenes, and I presented that solution to the client and designer. I programmed backend functionality and system architecture in TouchDesigner. I conducted on-site installation, testing, and retainer maintenance alongside the AV vendor.
